A year-and-a-half after the events in "The Tribes of Enthedrill;" Ayela's life has settled, with her working a monotonous job and living out a subpar relationship that her best friend has protested since the start. The empire's citizens seemed to be oblivious to the revelations that she helped leak a year prior, and Enthedrill roped the dwarven nation of Durinveii into its global conflict. Her mental health has taken a toll, too, with her questioning whether her actions were right in the first place. When she takes a vacation with her boyfriend, her life is turned upside-down once again with a confrontation against her fierce adversary. Just when all hope seemed lost, though, a new front to the war steps in the scene; the rebel fighters known as the Majjai- the very people she helped save with Kacyn. After her rescue, in her fight against her mental health and the grey lines between what's right and wrong, she must choose whether her foe will live or die. When her friends have made up their minds to betray their very tightly upheld morals, she decides it's her duty to remain true to their core beliefs. Will that be enough, though? -- Originally written under the Penname "Zachael T.J. Presgrove," I am republishing here.
