MOGAI: Marginalized Orientations, Gender Alignments, and Intersex.

LGBT: Lesbian, Gay, Bi, Trans

Is the term 'LGBT+' an abstract concept to you? Then perhaps you should take the time to learn about the people around you. As a member of the LGBT+ (or MOGAI) community, I like to stay in tune to what people who identify themselves all over the spectrum have to say. There are many names for the ways you might identify yourself. While labels are not required, many choose to label themselves. Each chapter of The MOGAI Guide sheds some light on these identities and orientations.

So if you'd like to learn how to respect people and potentially identify yourself, if you know people who are a part of the LGBT+ community, or if you have characters that are a part of the community, maybe you will find this useful.

Beyond the Banary

2 parts Complete Mature

Born intersex, Iris struggled with her identity throughout her adolescence, dealing with a society that often wants to categorize things in rigid boxes. She's spent years learning to embrace her body and her complexity, but it's still a journey in progress. She is comfortable with who she is but remains cautious about sharing her full self with others. Iris has few close friends, but those who are in her inner circle are trusted deeply. Her family is supportive but doesn't fully understand the depth of her inner world. Olivia grew up in a loving household, with parents who encouraged her to follow her passions. She's from a relatively small town and moved to the city recently, excited to experience new things and meet new people. She's still figuring out what she wants to do with her life but is more focused on enjoying the journey than worrying about the destination. Her friends are a central part of her life, and she tends to surround herself with people who share her sense of adventure.
