"What about you Louis?" Harry asks Louis. He's just finished telling him about the new piano he'll be getting soon.

"I don't like to talk about myself." Louis states bluntly.

"Why not?" Harry questions. Louis turns his head to look at Harry. He examines him carefully, studying his jaw and cheekbones, his lips, his nose. He looks at his chin and his eyes and his ears. Every feature on his face, Louis just seems to soak up.

"Too many people don't care enough. They simply ask me what I'm like out of politeness instead of curiosity." Louis speaks carefully. It's almost as if he says one wrong word he will be scolded or taken away.

"I care." Harry says.

"I know you do Harry." And with that last sentence being said, Louis gets up and disappears into the night.

"Can you for once be honest with yourself, Louis?" Harry pulls his hair. He is so frustrated with the guy he has been living with for the past few weeks. "I am honest with myself! You just think you can turn everyone.... you know the way you are." "Turn everyone what, Louis? Can't you speak the word? Is only saying the word too disgusting for you? Do you mean gay. G-A-Y... GAY." "Stop it!" Louis covers his ears with his hands. He doesn't want to hear it. Harry's words can't be slightly true. Eleanor is proof of that. "You can't keep treating me like shit and kiss me afterwards! You can't say you are straight and keep kissing me! Go on, Louis. Tell me you only like girls and you never enjoyed one kiss we shared. "Say something Lou... please. Say something..." "Football and Gay don't go together, Harry. Why can't you understand that I can't give you what you want from me? I... I don't even feel..." he paused. For a fleeting second, I was hopeful. I waited for him to finish the sentence. "I don't feel the same about you, Harry". Louis finally said, his tone mundane. He had his back turned to me so I couldn't read his face when he said this. I wanted to look into his blue eyes when he said this. He's lying. He had to be lying. "Lou please... Look at me, Lou...", I was practically begging him. I felt my chest constrict. I couldn't breathe again. I tried to take deep breaths in, but I couldn't feel air filling up my lungs. "Lou you promised you won't leave... You promised you would always be there for me". Tears were pouring out of my eyes uncontrollably and it blurred my vision. I tried to wipe them off with the back of my hand. I was a mess. When my vision cleared, I could see him starting to walk away. "Don't go Louis. You don't have to love me back, Lou. Just please don't leave. Let's be friends?" A weird prickling feeling was spreading through my body, flowing through my veins. It was numbing my hands, feet, my entire body. I was now on my knees. He was leaving me. My Louis was leaving me. "It hurts Lou. I would rather die than feel this way". ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Harry Styles is spellbound by the blue-eyed football star of Crestwood Academy, Louis Tomlinson. He is happy to finally have found something more entrancing than music and art. Louis Tomlinson finds Harry, the new student, quite intriguing. He's utterly confused with feelings he is sure he has never felt before. The two boys soon become best friends but will they fall truly, madly, deeply in love?

Ever since Harry stumbled into Rough Patch, Louis couldn't get him out of his head, whether it's teasing him about his music taste, or trying to see the blush that creeps over his face, or making the dimple in his cheek make an appearance. * "I work at a record store, love. Music is literally my job, I have taste." "I dj and host at a radio station, love." Harry retorted, mocking Louis' accent as best he could. But he didn't do a very good job of it. "Music is literally my job." "That's a good thing then, you've got a face for radio." Louis' voice was dripping in sarcasm, a smirk plastered on the shorter boy's face. Harry's eyebrows knit together, glaring down at the boy. "Are you calling me ugly?" Harry rolled his eyes and started to walk out of the store. "Wait," Louis called. Harry stopped on his heels, expecting an apology. "What radio station do you work for?" He asked instead. "What's it matter, since I've got no taste?" * Or the one where Harry works at a radio station and Louis works at a record store so they bicker over music. It's teasing and it's cute. * The playlist for this fic is in my bio * #16 in larrystylinson
