In the year 10 A.D., at the height of the Roman Empire, the prince of werewolves was born. And for several years the empire flourished. Until his mother died, the King went crazy after losing his precious mate. He couldn't stand the sight of mates, or female werewolves who reminded him of his late mate.
The king decreed a new law, outlawing matings. Any mated female wolf was to be killed on sight. Despite the uproar, the king managed to continue his slayings, until only a few female wolves roamed, mostly in hiding.
Unwilling to allow such atrocities to continue, the Moon Goddess came down to earth, gathering all her remaining daughters. She decreed to her sons that there would be no more female werewolves born until she felt it was safe for them in this world. And with that she took the remaining female wolves with her.
Sometime later the adolescent Prince of Werewolves killed his father and took his place on the throne, and abolished the law on mating. Over the next 2000 years the werewolves lived in an era of unprecedented peace.
The story of the female werewolves returning became known as the Feminam Lupinotuum or Female Werewolf.
