Magic and heroes. Historically they exist everywhere, in every culture, in every land, tales of grand powers and abnormal skills. For the longest time they were put off as stories of dramaticism and exaggeration, but what if the actual fiction was the normality of these heroes.
Berserkers were the heroes that first garnished the attention of our scientists, the theory that every hero had some sort of broken mental state, hidden in their acts of glory or terror. A theory that faulty thought process was the ignition for powers beyond our scientific comprehension.
Akin to many stories of heroes, loss was essential, immense and crippling loss at a young age. Experiment after experiment, child after child, we ruthlessly maimed and crippled under the glorious notion of science.
A theory that proved right, but of course in the worse way possible.
Each success helped to clarify our hypothesis, until finally we created eleven of them.
Eleven magical children. Creatures that defied reality so long as they maintained an element of fracture in their mental state. Denying them a portion of what made them human, somehow made them more, a bit more than we expected.
The creation method was secured and quickly hidden, as much as they were kids, they were dangerous, their splintered humanities allowing for great acts of cruelty.
Acts just as cruel, if not worse, than the ones we had once committed to them.
So, we harnessed them and raised them, eleven innocents. We exercised them and we extorted them, eleven weapons.
We had gone this far and we knew we had done immense wrongs.
But we were dedicated to finishing this Thought Experiment.
Season 4 of The Virus Within
Trinity is familiar with zombies, being one herself, but when strange zombies start appearing, she realizes that the world she knew might be changing yet again.
When a dangerous set of scientific notes are discovered, Trinity and her friends don't realize anything is wrong until a frantic radio call comes in. Unaware of the notes, they race to the south and struggle to determine where the strange zombies came from. The zombies are unlike any ranks previously seen, and they aren't as predictable. Some have new tricks hidden up sleeves, forcing any Stronghold they encounter to quickly adapt to the new challenge or risk being overrun. Secrets never remain hidden, and zombie apocalypses never make life easy.
