Entering Open Novella Contest 2021. Prompt:
"You get a mysterious message on your phone stating, Agent 23, you have been activated. You guess it's a bad time to have amnesia." (54)

This suits perfectly as an idea for a follow-up story of my previous work, Mallory (https://www.thecreativesjournal.com/bookstore/p/mallory).

I will also incorporate an idea inspired by Grimm (TV show) that I have wanted to work on for so long but never got to. 

If you know me, you know I enjoyed Grimm, but was a bit disappointed of how it ended. In fact, I was actually hoping for something else completely. And if you know me, you know I love to play with words and have monthly theme. Well, if you don't know me, now you know.

This story was first meant to be first published on the fifth of November, so that it is "Grimmember Grimmember, the Fifth of November." But I never wrote the story! Oh, well. Any time of the month is good too, I guess. Let's do this!Todos los derechos reservados

After a night on the town, Sarah wakes up to a miserable hangover. But it's nothing compared to what comes next. After attempting to light a cigarette, she feels that something isn't quite right. Soon she'll discover that everything is very wrong. My entry in the Open Novella Contest III, Feb 2020. April 28. Just got the news that Thirteen Points has made it through the second round. Now I have to finish by May 5th. I'm not as far along as I had hoped at this point, but I'm sure I can make it. May 4th. 12:10 am. Finished. Submitted. Good night. May 20th. Well, 13 Points made the Long List. I have no idea how many original entries there were but about 940 made the first cut. There's 150 on the Long List. Not bad for my first time out. Now we'll wait and see how we fare on the Short List. May 30th. Well, Sarah and company didn't make the Short List. I can't say I'm disappointed though. Lena had always felt like something was missing. There were gaps in her childhood, moments she couldn't quite grasp, as if they had been stolen from her mind. But when she stumbled upon an old, dust-covered box in her grandmother's attic, everything changed. Inside were faded photographs, letters written in a child's handwriting, and a locket she had never seen before-yet it felt so familiar. A strange sense of déjà vu washed over her as she traced the engraving on the locket: Forever Remember. As Lena pieced together the fragments of her past, memories long buried began to resurface-some warm and comforting, others dark and unsettling. She remembered laughter echoing through a sunlit house, the scent of freshly baked cookies, and the soft hum of a lullaby. Guns, revenge and buildings to bomb, what could go wrong? ✮ He came in, gun held out in front of him in one hand while the other was resting on his hip where a sharp dagger gleamed in the light. "Come on out little girl, why not make this easier for both of us. The agency you ran away from just want to have a little talk, that's all." She scoffed internally. Yeah right. Then the footsteps ceased. She peeked to the right, then to the left. Neither direction showed any sign of the intruder. She looked up in front of her and gasped, the glint of steel and smell of death as overwhelming as it was adrenaline inducing, exciting. "Boo." ✮ Murder, accidents, assassinations. Call it what you will, it's all the same, all has the same life breaking, mind shattering consequences - be it for the victim or the bystander. It had shaped Alex in a way no one should be. Broken down and rebuilt into the perfect soldier, one who had the power to change the world, to fight battles that would either make or break the carefully constructed vision we all live in. The only small, minute, really unimportant detail - it's pretty hard to get into a government classified site when you're 15 years old and have a rag-tag team of double-crossing back-stabbers behind you. Not to mention the threat of a world war and ghost hanging above your head. Armed with sarcasm, wit, and a hell of a lot of aggressive intentions, it won't be too long till a sticky situation is all that's ahead of you. Sometimes, running head-first into a situation isn't the best idea. Instead, you gotta play a game. A deadly game where either you have all the pieces on the board, or you have nothing. |WATTYS 2022 WINNER - HORROR| Shawn, a convicted criminal, never thought she'd see the sun again, let alone call another star system her home. When she's offered an out from her prison sentence, she embarks on a dangerous interstellar expedition along with 18 of Earth's most intelligent criminals. Their task is to set up a base on a supposedly habitable planet and prepare it for colonization. Although the planet has liquid water and a breathable atmosphere, it is believed to host only microbial life. However, upon arriving, Shawn and the rest of the colonists learn that assumption was grossly incorrect. In a brutal attack from rampaging wildlife, everyone but Shawn and four other colonists are killed. The five survivors retreat to the cavernous network beneath the ground seeking safety, but they soon come to a terrible discovery. These caves aren't ordinary caves, and they are no safer down under than they were on the surface. [][][] This was originally my entry for the 2021 Open Novella Contest, and it received an honorable mention! It has now been expanded into a full length novel. I used prompt number 53: "When wildlife starts rampaging, all the humans are forced underground. However, they come to a terrible discovery that being underground is no safer than being on the surface."
