She's not a huge fan of mortals. She prefers the calm ocean. But these mortals are something else. Skye is a goddess that just wants to have fun. What's the point of being immortal without a little fun. So instead of being a mature goddess, she takes form of a young girl. So why not makes friends with someone her age. Hint hint. His jaw tensed as he scratched the back of his head. I couldn't help but stare at his muscles. I frowned at myself. Damn my dirty mind. I shook off the thought, looking at his face and meeting his eyes. He jumped slightly, almost, ALMOST falling backwards off the bed. "I thought I told you to stop that." He snapped at me, a look of annoyance crossing his face. "And what is it that I'm doing exactly?" I narrowed my eyes at him. "You keep," He paused, frowning deeply. "looking at me...." What?! He growl lowly as my breath become shallow from this steamy sessions. Within a second, he digs his canines into my skin, and moans escape my mouth at this newly found pleasures. He tightens his grip at my back, tugging at my shirt. My breath becomes heavy, and I scratch his neck lightly. He marked me. He keeps his teeth inside me for a while before slowly pulling out trying to not hurt me. He licked the mark and I can feel the sparks and tingles shivers down my skin. Life has never seemed more serene than as I lay dying. Blood coats the forest floor beneath me, connecting with the foilage-covered soil in a parade of musty, copper smells. Through the rain drops that fall on me from the treetops, I can feel the icy breath of a dawning winter. It will be cold this year. It's a shame Ill never see it- I love the cold. Most cold. This cold that envelopes me now is hostile and uninviting, almost empty. They say that when you're faced with death, your life flashes before your eyes. The same could not be said for me. After a night on the town, Sarah wakes up to a miserable hangover. But it's nothing compared to what comes next. After attempting to light a cigarette, she feels that something isn't quite right. Soon she'll discover that everything is very wrong. My entry in the Open Novella Contest III, Feb 2020. April 28. Just got the news that Thirteen Points has made it through the second round. Now I have to finish by May 5th. I'm not as far along as I had hoped at this point, but I'm sure I can make it. May 4th. 12:10 am. Finished. Submitted. Good night. May 20th. Well, 13 Points made the Long List. I have no idea how many original entries there were but about 940 made the first cut. There's 150 on the Long List. Not bad for my first time out. Now we'll wait and see how we fare on the Short List. May 30th. Well, Sarah and company didn't make the Short List. I can't say I'm disappointed though. What could have happened in that person's life to ever cause them to go over the edge? This book is a collection of short stories to help shed light on such a person. His victories! His defeats. His most proud moments. And his embarrassing foibles. And of course, his father. Who, at every opportunity, made it his personal mission to embarrass his children. Scare his wife.
