One day, Link explores what seemed to be the hideout of someone linked to Ganon the Calamity. Inside, a little boy sits on the floor, an empty gaze straying towards Link. Who is he ? What is he doing in this abandoned place ? Link's questions stay unanswered. He decides to bring the boy back with him to the castle, but this will have more consequences than what he could have imagined.

Opting to live regular lives as simple villagers in this new era, Link and Zelda choose to make their home in Hateno Village. However, neither one can ignore one issue they've noticed: even with Calamity Ganon sealed, his monsters still roamed the land. Choosing to investigate, Link prepares Zelda for travel in this new wild-covered land. After receiving a letter from King Dorephan regarding a malfunction with Vah Ruta, the two embark on their quest to investigate the remaining monsters and the error with the Divine Beasts, while also learning and acting upon the feelings they had set aside for so long. Little do they know, someone may be guiding them toward something far more challenging than they realize.
