"Each player must accept the cards life deals him or her; but once they are in hand, he or she alone must decide how to play the cards in order to win the game."
-Voltaire

"I've heard that quote a thousand times from my father who heard it from his Grandfather that was not only a decorated soldier but an avid gambler. Great Grandfather made sure his offspring understood life through the eyes of someone willing to risk it all for victory. To him, risk is what you're willing to do for the man next to you or betting it all against the House chasing the elusive twenty-one. Great Grandfather never did lose to the House or his enemies because he understood something so important, "Never take a disadvantage always stack the odds in your favor." Is something he would tell his sons, I found out later this was just his way of telling you he counted cards. But despite all of his skill and knowledge he still lost to the most unfair and powerful game in the universe ...
Life....... And no, I'm not referring to the stupid board game.
From everything I've seen and experienced life is like a fucked up game of blackjack where you play to survive and the house always wins. Every hit I took in that game ended in tragedy..... Never be my next hit."

Humans and Anthros lived in peace and harmony on the earth for hundreds of years. The United Anthro Nations (UAN) sought to unite all races of anthros and build a stronger relationship with humans. An era of peace and prosperity came over the earth. That is until the year 2037 when a terrorist group called the Fangs attacked the UAN and started a worldwide war. The UAN instantly declared war on the Fangs and fought furiously to destroy them. The Humans on the other hand said they wanted to remain neutral and not take any side. The UAN respected this and even tried to safeguard and protect the humans by place ing any and all humans they found in safe camps. The Fangs didn't care for humanity and would kill any human they came across and, in some cases capture and experiment on them. After the Fangs attacked and destroyed all the western hemisphere camps. Along with all the camps in South America Humanity claimed that the UAN couldn't protect them and cut off all ties with them. Now Humanity is in hiding and even is starting to attack both UAN and Fang forces that get too close. Now the year is 2057 and, the Human race has all but vanished while the fangs now control most of Europe and are slowly winning the fight in America. The UAN leadership ordered that any humans found were to be taken to a military base for care and protection. And they only hoped they could rebuild what they once had before the war. (P.S. A New Perspective Of War [READ DESC] by Dude98362

The rewrite for this book is out. It features way better writing than this one, trust me. 2024: The American military suspects World War III due to missile attacks from Russia all across Australia, Europe, and Canada. In an effort to aid the American military, scientists at Area-51 created animals with human characteristics, incredible speed, strength, agility, ect. They even have sentience. The humans dubbed these creatures 'Anthros'. No human could beat one in hand-to-hand combat. Not even the best person at close quarters combat. 2025: Two things would change the fate of the world as we know it. Those being that missile attacks were becoming more and more frequent. And the anthros were starting to rebel. Thus, starting the war. The anthros turned on their own squads, wiping almost all military members out. The anthros formed a military, with one goal. Extinguish humanity and take over earth. The last remaining humans in the military are fighting against anthros for their survival. Earth is practically hell at this point if you live on it. The human military in other continents has either been taken out by anthros, or the Russians. The Human Canadian Military moves down to the United States in an attempt to aid them, and to end this war once and for all. But one human soldier stands out from the rest after taking an experimental item... After this soldier is betrayed and lost, with no other option, joins the anthro military in an attempt to get his hands on the person who betrayed him. He'll do anything and kill anyone in his way to get to them and end this war. Even his own species. This soldier's name is Falcon. He suspects that it won't be much longer before he'll be betrayed again. But hey, that's just a theory. This book contains excessive swearing, detailed death/injury, and yeah that's pretty much it. So sit back, grab a snack, and read this book. (If you want to) Congrats to you if you actually read all of this.

Humanity used to thrive in 2035 until a group of scientists started playing God. This science team was recruited by all the top world leaders and they've begun receiving demands for a super soldier, and they began experimenting on animals, which gave the scientists expected results, but like all experiments, there was a chance for failure. The humanoid animals, or Anthros for short, started getting smarter, faster than the scientists expected, or reacted. The Anthros broke free and took what was left of the 'White Mist,' the substance that created them, and put it into the planet's air supply. Long story short, most animals worldwide have begun transforming into Anthros, and started devastating the world's militaries before attacking cities. Humanity is now facing extinction with their last millions while the Anthro civilization is over 2 Billion strong and counting. The war between Humans and Anthros has lasted for over 50 years, and while humans may be disadvantaged against the Anthros higher strength, speed, endurance, and intelligence, they still beat Anthros with improvisation, adaptability, and tactics. The war has destroyed all four Eastern continents, leaving behind a creature both Humans and Anthros call Reapers, who are husks of the person they were. The Anthros have near complete control over North America and are fighting Humanity in South America, but the main human bases are located on the Hawaiian islands. With death seeming inevitable for human kind, can nothing stop humanity from extinction? Zero has just graduated from high school with good marks and a scholarship. His family wanted to celebrate, so they said they would wait for him. He went back to grab his wallet, and as he turned around, he started falling in a wormhole, closing afterwards. (This is my first story, and the art seen does not belong to me.) (Book 1 of War series)
The Iron Guardian (A Human x Anthro Superhero Story) by arm0da
5 parts Ongoing Mature
A 22-year-old human boy builds a suit of armor, testing it only to inadvertently cause himself to escape the Earth's atmosphere, drifting off into a deep cryonic sleep, after tens of thousands of days in this frozen state. Then, after what feels like a long time drifting in space, he wakes up, entering a planet, believing he is re-entering Earth's atmosphere. However, when he lands roughly on the dunes of a beach, he realizes that the world he has entered is not Earth at all, but a society filled with anthropomorphic beings. Thinking this might be the only thing that exists, he is soon confronted with an attack in their city, where they are saved by superheroes who happen to be anthropomorphic creatures with superpowers, adorned in costumes that symbolize themselves. It seems unbelievable that they are real. In my world back on Earth, they were fictional and mythical icons found in comic books, movies, and TV shows. After rescuing a superhero from an encounter with a monstrous reptile-like creature in the city, he retreats to the woods. He hides for about a year, living and trying to gather as much knowledge as he can about this new world and the superheroes it contains. He believes he is living an easy life, away from the foreign society. But after saving a school bus filled with anthropomorphic kids from a disastrous fall, ensuring they would not be left behind, he is discovered again. However, at his long-awaited hiding spot, he was in the woods. He was greeted by an anthropomorphic tiger who happened to be the director of the superhero protection agency (SPA) and offered him a place in it.

The Pride's Claw - A Pride's Claw Novel - Book Zero

22 parts Complete Mature

You can now find this book in paperback and kindle formats (with corrections and enhancements) on my website https://indigoleomax.com! The Pride is a quiet faction dedicated to protecting anthros wherever they are hunted. Their newest asset, a pirate frigate stolen from the Naraka during a covert operation near the Kuiper Belt and renamed The Pride's Claw, now returns to Earth with one mission: recruit a crew willing to risk everything for a chance at survival. Earth is breaking. Storms, quakes, and eruptions strike without pattern as an unexplained phenomenon tears the planet apart from within. Millions are dead. Science has no answers. For anthros, safety is rapidly disappearing. Human extremists demand their eradication. Diggercorp, the corporation responsible for creating them, remains silent. Across collapsing cities and fracturing borders, runaways and outcasts begin to hear rumors of a ship offering escape. Some seek refuge. Some seek purpose. All of them carry secrets that could decide the future of their kind. Survival now is not only about outrunning destruction. It is about identity. It is about choosing who you stand with when the world decides who is worthy of existence. The Pride's Claw offers one final possibility. A future, if they can claim it.
