"I've heard that quote a thousand times from my father who heard it from his Grandfather that was not only a decorated soldier but an avid gambler. Great Grandfather made sure his offspring understood life through the eyes of someone willing to risk it all for victory. To him, risk is what you're willing to do for the man next to you or betting it all against the House chasing the elusive twenty-one. Great Grandfather never did lose to the House or his enemies because he understood something so important, "Never take a disadvantage always stack the odds in your favor." Is something he would tell his sons, I found out later this was just his way of telling you he counted cards. But despite all of his skill and knowledge he still lost to the most unfair and powerful game in the universe ...
Life....... And no, I'm not referring to the stupid board game.
From everything I've seen and experienced life is like a fucked up game of blackjack where you play to survive and the house always wins. Every hit I took in that game ended in tragedy..... Never be my next hit."
