I'm trying my hand at an old-fashioned murder mystery.
I wanted to write a female MC that is strong without being bitchy, a mother that is fully capable of doing her job, someone who is human and flawed, but still functional.

Then, MC learned about the man without a face, legendary Duskwood creature; he leaves a raven's mark on the doors of the worst sinners. Each year, on the night of the first new moon, he returns to the houses he has marked, drags anybody inside-guilty or not-out into the forest, never to be seen again. MC initially refused to believe in paranormal phenomena, but as time went on, inexplicable catastrophes began to occur. The faceless individual attacked Jessy, threatened Cleo's mother in a letter, and painted a red raven symbol on Richy's garage.
