It took many, many years for him to come to his senses....

But he feels that it's too late for it to mean anything.
He blames himself for everyone leaving him behind.
He blames himself for for letting his depression, and what it entailed, get the best of him.
He blames himself for letting The Entity in.
He blames himself for throwing the party.
He blames himself for the aftermath.
He blames himself.........

But he hides it behind a fake, condescending smirk. Why? Because he feels like people will think he's lying, so why not hide how he feels with lies?
After all, he is an Actor.
