I'm a warrior.
But I'm not sure where to go.
What my direction in life should be.
I don't know who I exactly am.
On one of my missions where I freed some war prisoners, those poor people walked out of their cages freely. I just swapped my life for theirs.
And now there's no way out.
Only fear and despair.

The Revelation by dstry0515
5 parts Complete Mature
In the beginning, there was death. The darkness flows from hues of purple and orange, the moon rising to kiss the sun's rays one last time as the darkest cloud of night I've ever seen falls over our tiny haven. I catch Will's face from the side of my vision and my heart tightens slightly. The tick of his jaw wouldn't be noticeable for anyone but me. His best friend, his lifeline. A solemn tear forms in my eye as he wipes his face, another tear falling for the family he lost. I love him. Utterly and desperately so, but, there's nothing I can do about that. The ultimate forbidden fruit, if you will. I reach to comfort him and he doesn't respond. I open my mouth to speak and he looks my way, but the gleam in his dark brown eyes hits the moonlight just right and I fall. My voice escapes my throat and I can't do it. I've tried for years to tell him. 10 years, actually. All this time, I hopelessly remained devoted to a ghost who had given the best of himself to a fiery red-head with a sassy personality and the body of a supermodel. For 10 years, I held to the desperate thought that maybe, just maybe, he'd be someone I could count on. Instead, I watched him marry my best friend, smiled as they welcomed their son. Stood, holding that beautiful boy as his mother was in the first round of executions after the beginning of the Revelation. Helped heal Will's wounds in the aftermath. Cried, clutching the tear-stained shirt of my best friend as his son took his last staggering breath in that first harsh winter. The guilt of my emotions crawl through me. My heart twisting in regret, guilt, desperation, and grief. I loved my best friend. She was so much more than that; she was my family. In this dystopian quick read, join a group of people desperate to recapture their freedom and end a tyrant's reign.

Do your genes, your parents, teachers, or your master determine who you will be in life? Can they set your value in the universe? 650 years ago the known species of the universe came together and signed the Alliance, a document that would help each race find its place in the universe. It granted freedom to some and the scant protection of slavery to others. Into this society a handful of children are born who will change it forever, if they can survive to adulthood. Here is the origin story of two of those children. Hathu is born to a man determined to make the universe bow to him and his species. Since he learned to talk, Hathu has been a disappointment to his father. He doesn't want to become a warrior, and he refuses to assert his dominance. When he accidentally overhears his father plotting against the Ir'Klahn empire, can Hathu stop him? Mik is born with no rights, destined to become a lifelong slave. His mother tries to protect him from this fate by running away and finding a home for them on a trading ship that travels from world to world. They are safe for now, but how long can they hide from the best trackers in the universe? This is the first book in the My Kingdom Come series. Updates every Tuesday. :) My 2021 Nanowrimo so please excuse the unedited condition of the story. Be warned: there is violence, rape, murder, abuse, self harm and suicidal thoughts in this story. Regret buried itself deep into the pit of my stomach as he leaned close, his breath fanning against my ear as his grip on me tightened, "Blood for the blood god." He whispered with dangerous intent. And that's when his sword pierced through my skin. ~ subscribe to technoblade If Techno is uncomfortable with this fanfic I will take it down not only to respect him as a person but also to respect his privacy. 100 years ago, amidst WW3's nuclear bombing, a deadly virus was released in the atmosphere and nearly wiping out the humanity. It lives inside the human brain thriving on the empathy receptors, leading to irrational behaviour and ultimately brain death. To slow the damage, scientists created L.O.V.E, short for Living Off Vital Emotions, a nanovaccine that numbs the virus and switches off all strong emotions. As a last resort and with a dying planet, the Supreme Government created the City, a place to contain the infected survivors suitable for the experiment. Those in the first stages of illness became ideal candidates to receive the neuroinhibitor. Having their feelings restrained and their memory altered, those who come of age are designated a life partner through a Selection process, thus preserving the humankind. A few decades after the trial had started, scientists had a major breakthrough. The nanites, which are highly chemically reactive organisms, are changing their bio-engineered purpose when dopamine levels are high. With a new generation of nanoids, stronger and smarter to fight the battle, the virus doesn't have a chance. Many attempts were made to create a man-made version of synthetic dopamine and each time the outcome was a disaster. Their goal is to create new generations, immune to the virus. These are called Purebloods, the offsprings of those who find pure love, the only cure to save them from a violent death. Running out of time, the Experiment entered in its final stages. To minimize the threats, the Colonies have sent their best soldiers to oversee the trial and protect its key subjects. If only things were going according to plan, or better...stay hidden. With Iron Guard, the resistance outside the walls, hunting the Purebloods too, will the trial save human race before it's too late? #3 in #dystopianfuture (27.06.2020)

blends high-stakes conflict, deep worldbuilding, and a mix of magic, science, and strategy. The story revolves around Kai, a central figure who initially refuses an enigmatic offer, setting off a chain of events that intertwine his fate with the Ether Grid, ancient runes, and a cosmic child born from his essence. The world is rich with diverse characters-humans, aliens, and non-human beings-each with their own agendas, cultures, and fighting styles that shape the world's power dynamics. At the heart of the narrative lies a struggle between forces seeking to control the runes and the Ether, entities whose origins remain shrouded in mystery. A king or ruler, whose past and motivations are intentionally ambiguous, has been advancing the fusion of magic and scientific research, reshaping the continent's destiny. Meanwhile, every character introduced has something to lose, ensuring each battle is more than just a spectacle-it's a matter of survival, legacy, or vengeance. And political power and power struggle The story unfolds with gradual revelations, introducing Althea and a host of other key players, including underworld figures, thugs (introduced in Chapter Two), and a mysterious new character (arriving in Chapter Four). As the plot progresses, the presence of law enforcement, federal agents, and covert organizations suggests a deeper connection between politics, crime, and the supernatural. narrative weaves together themes of betrayal, power, sacrifice, and the cost of mastery. The fight for dominance over the runes and the Ether is more than just a battle-it's a conflict that will determine the fate of existence itself.

"The way I see it, things don't just happen for no reason. Everything that happened, happens, and will happen all have a reason for happening. I think are fates are already written, but how they are played out is up to us as people. I think that our destinies are inserted into our lives the moment we're born. We just have to figure out what that destiny is. We are all meant for something bigger than us." Glen looks back at me. "I don't think like that. I refuse to believe that my life was ruined for some greater purpose. If that is so, I say screw it! I don't want any part of whatever destiny this world has lined up for me." He isn't angry. He means what he says. He refuses to believe as much as I believe otherwise. "I guess we'll see in the end, won't we?" He nods. "We'll see." In a world where there are chipped soldiers that kill and torture at the will of one evil dictator, what hope is to be found? Is there a reason why Glen Yarder's life was ruined when he was merely twelve years old? Is it fate that he did the things he did? Is it fate that brought him together with certain important people? Could this chipped broken man actually make a difference? He doesn't think so. Cover Credit goes to @StarlightNight13
