the story is about Akiya's life. whose parents died, his brother left him when he was little. one day, a couple of years after what had happened, he was talking to mayisaka about a book on which akiya was outraged why mayisaka had never read it before. when they are both surprised when the book opens on its own and they fall into the book world where they make friends and adventures and discoveries await them
