Born into nobility, sold into slavery, Siofra's fate is now in the hands of some very big and powerful men.
Siofra knew that England and Germany were at war. England had sent nearly a dozen girls to the safety of her home in Ireland.
When her father is arrested for selling the girls, only a week before the blitz, he sells her to buy his own freedom.
Her uncle's best friend steps in and buys her, saving her from the free market. But are his intentions just?
When the bombs begin to fall it becomes too dangerous for her to travel to her new home in the highlands of Scotland. Her new master is happy to let her stay with her uncle to be trained. He will call for her when she's older.
Now at only nine years old her uncle must train her to serve while being a physician during the blitz. He's a little distracted, and not everyone staying at her uncle's house is safe. Also, there's some disagreement on who all gets to decide what she should learn.
