In late 19th century Jardin, an island known for vampires, cynical Margery is tasked with killing all the humans who disrupt the peace of their vampire clan. When a group of researchers comes to study vampires with the matriarch's permission, Margery is determined to use them, making a deal with artist Uriel.

Blunt and crass, Uriel hates vampires, but when Margery reveals she wants to live in the human world, he agrees if only she kills someone in exchange. But the researchers are not ready for the Butterfly Clan's schemes, nor the town's discrimination against them.

As they plan their escape, Margery realizes Uriel might just be the only man she can trust, but what she doesn't know is Uriel has a secret of his own...

15 parts Complete
The world is at war and the Grand Duchy of Wesica is in the middle, literally. With the Thieblin Empire on one side and the Vassau Alliance on the other, Wesica struggles to maintain its neutrality - while profiting off both. After a fatal attack on his partner, Constable William MacIntyre tries to convince his superiors it was a werewolf attack but nobody believes him. Everyone knows werewolves were all banished from the duchy centuries ago. As if to spit in his face, he's transferred away from the action to a new position as liaison officer at Arkwright Academy, his high school alma mater. Disgusted with his superiors' denial, he vows to uncover the truth behind why werewolves were exiled in the first place and the reason for their return. His investigation may cost him his job, but it may cost Wesica even more if he's right and no one does something. Amelia Kalestas transfers to Arkwright in her final year of high school amid rumors of war between the world's two superpowers. News of her being a troublemaker spread like wildfire when on her first day she performs a spectacle. Whether it's fate or misfortune, these two people are tied together due to their circumstances. Amelia eventually blackmails MacIntyre into forming an equal exchange partnership: she'll help him get access to the files he needs for his investigation, while he promises not to report her and her friends for drinking during prohibition.
