Cara is a resident of the International Space Colonies and the Prefect of Dormitory 11. One day, she meets a Chinese girl called Jeisha. Jeisha used to live in one of the underground bunkers until her parents died and the international council secures her life as a space colonist. Their life is normal as normal can get in their lives, but everything changes when a mysterious disease spreads among the toddlers of the space colonies, and Cara, Jeisha, and their friend Luna Tchaikovsky, among many others, have to return to the surface of the Earth in a desperate search for a possible cure, to where they, and the whole of humanity, thought they had left behind forever.
