"My nose itches."

"Don't move."

"But - "

"Don't. Move."

"Jason, this isn't fair- my nose itches and I have to pee and you're being ridiculous and -" She teeters on the stool and the curse of her klutziness attacks.

Down goes the setup, taking curtains, lights, and tubs of multi colored neon paint with her, splattering across the wood floor and white walls. She cringes - expecting him to blow up instantly, now that his art was ruined.

"Wow - that was epic."

Avery looks behind her and stares at the beautiful, accidental, art her clumsiness just created. Maybe it wasn't a curse after all.

High school is supposed to be about new beginnings-a place for reinvention, for belonging, for forging friendships that last a lifetime. But for Elaine, it's not about starting over. It's about surviving. Elaine, sharp-tongued and brilliant, has always been second best to Kai Monet in arts while he was second to her in STEM but Elaine doesn't want to be second to anyone, in anything. With her top grades and her refusal to conform, she should have been untouchable. Kai Monet is a puzzle wrapped in contradictions, a celebrated & tortured artist whose work is auctioned to adoring parents and a co-founder of a successful video game company. Yet, no one ever asks why he carries that empty look in his eyes or why the "perfect" Kai never calls anywhere home. Their rivalry was set in stone from the moment he snatched away her top spot in junior year, shattering the one thing that made her feel whole, academic perfection. But their clashes are more than academic. Every glance, every exchange is a power play, a dance between fire and ice. She's sharp, cynical, and guarded-hiding bruises that aren't just on her skin. He's charming, unpredictable, and broken in ways he hides behind a smirk. Elaine thinks she can dismantle him piece by piece, exposing the cracks in his golden exterior. But what happens when she discovers that his pain mirrors her own? He thinks she's just another sharp edge to avoid. But what happens when he realizes she's the only one who truly sees him? Will they keep tearing each other apart until there's nothing left, or will the tension between them force them to confront the wounds they've been hiding all along? Because sometimes, it's not about winning or losing, it's about seeing who's left standing when the dust settles.

"New student, right?" the Principal asked me. I nodded meekly, hoping that he would turn out to be a patient suffering from short term memory loss and would forget about detention but his next words confirmed how rotten my luck was! "Mr Spencer, Ms Wilson" he began in an icy calm voice," creating a raucous in the corridors right outside my office isn't exactly a heroic thing to do. Both of you have an option of either a week detention together or a two week detention together." My eyes shot wide open, "One week detention with him! That's practically impossible for humankind!" "I don't want to risk my bright IQ by serving detention with this psycho!" I heard Spencer jerk protest. "You have an IQ???" I looked at him, giving my best shocked expressions, "Is it the joke of the decade or joke of the century???" "Since you didn't react to my calling you a psycho, it confirms that you are one." he shrugged calmly. My brain was ready in an instant with a smart answer to that. I opened my mouth to give it back to him--- "STOP." The headmaster yelled, the pulse in his temple was throbbing red in fury. "The options are now changed to three week detention or four week detention." he muttered in anger. ***** Andrea Wilson was looking forward to having an ordinary life in school. But things don't turn out as planned when she accidentally gets into the bad books of the hot nerd in school. And when that popular nerd turns out to be her brother's best friend....well things don't really uncomplicate. Add to this generous amounts of classes, detentions, friends, enemies, crushes, heart breaks and Andrea is all set to have an eventful year in High School that she was for sure not looking forward to! ~*~~*~*~~*~ #7 in Teen Fiction 4.5.16

At 24 years old, Audrey is slowly achieving her dreams. A teacher, working in a challenging, rough-around-the-edges high school, every day is different. Even if it means that occasionally the sports shed burns down, or the police have to make an almost weekly appearance. Her best friend is also a teacher, the life of the party, and the best person to debrief over a glass of wine or three with. She had a handsome and hardworking boyfriend, and a cute little place to call her own. Always ready to play by the rules, Audrey is reliable and respectable, if not a bit boring. But when her life starts to go off the rails, she has some scary decisions to make. She opts to do something completely out of her comfort zone, and just see where it leads her. And to who... A love story about second chances. ¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤ "How dare you! I wouldn't touch you with a ten foot pole!" How was he getting under my skin so easily? "That's a pity. I have a ten foot pole I was so keen to show you. I bet I could change your mind." He was enjoying this way too much, and I wasn't going to hang around and let him taunt me any longer. I turned and started packing my things, silently fuming that he was getting off on making me angry. I felt him moving behind me as I worked, and suddenly he was behind me, whispering in my ear. "It would be so easy to unbutton these silly little shorts of yours... and just bend you over the table right now." My body stiffened and stood straight up, my cheeks now the colour of cherries. I stood still, barely breathing, as he traced a finger down my spine. Then it stopped. I heard him back away. And then the library door jolted shut, leaving me in silence again.

"what an interesting turn of events." bokuto says, letting his eyes glide over akaashi's honeyed skin, thinking he looked really nice when the sun hit him like that, black hair complementing blue eyes so prettily and effortlessly it almost made him feel bad for being mean to him on purpose. the cherry lollipop bites his tongue. "glad i have you as a roommate, pretty boy." "don't call me that." akaashi shakes his head and stands up, the nickname making a fuzzy itchy feeling prod at his chest, caught somewhere in between annoyance and flattery at the same time. "i'm leaving." "already?" bokuto pouts, getting under akaashi's skin quickly becoming one of his favorite pastimes, given the circumstances. "what a terrible roommate." ... or, the "i was so excited to live with someone who i could make friends with in my first year of college and good god why must it be you" au
