Well everyone has their problems and secrets locked away in the darkest parts of their minds. Hers is her traumatic past of being put through rigorous experiments because of her heightened IQ and physical abilities when she was only a child, causing her hair to turn a ghostly shade of white. This is the sad truth behind the mask of smiles and independence.
