Ainsley lives in a remote village that's in North America. The forest looms over her as she goes about her everyday life. Her Pa died, leaving Ainsley with just her Ma. They have town meetings every week in Paxsonville. 20 more towns border them. War and conflict are held. There is a strange girl in town that Ainsley must find the identity for. Ainsley, Peter, and Fritz form a bond, stronger than ever. They must travel far into the forest to save their town from starvation and murder. The three travelers are faced with challenges that they must conquer together. A story of love and friendship takes place in a small world. Even one girl from desolate Paxsonville can make a difference.

The Forest
Ernwood Forest is home to people living hidden from the prying eyes of humans; the Winged and their tribes. These people stand no taller than a few centimetres off the ground, meaning that things can sometimes get a little difficult... especially when humans are involved. But life isn't all bad. For the first time ever, Azure and the tribes have a human of their own protecting them from the sinister forces beyond the edge of the trees. As the months of winter roll in, nights are growing longer and snow has settled on the leafless branches. The forest is still.
