The Hong Kong High Court rejects the appeal of former legislator Liang Songheng

The Department of Justice of the Special Administrative Region Government subsequently filed criminal proceedings against 5 people. On May 11, 2018, the Kowloon City Magistrates' Court convicted five people for participating in an illegal assembly, and sentenced Liang Songheng and other five people to imprisonment for 4 weeks on June 4 that year. Liang Songheng later applied for bail and initiated an appeal.
