This story takes place in 1956:

Zachary Andrews is a 27 year old boy who has lived most of his adult life behind a cell door at Topeka State Hospital in Kansas. Everything started going wrong when he was 18 years old; his parents suddenly disappeared along with his baby sister. He was convicted of murder when he stated the voices told him to do it. 

Elijah Madden is a 30 year old man who's taken care of the "insane" boy, Zachary, for almost 8 years. Elijah finds Zach one of his most intriguing patients and is more keen to heal his mind than most of his patients. 

What happens between the two men when their relationship gets stronger as the sessions go on and the therapy continues?
