i think of mai and zuko as one of those relationships that were set up by their parents. you're wondering why ozi whod even bover setting zuko up. i think it wasn't ozi it was ursa(zuko's mum) who set zuko up not knowing that zuko and mai were both gay. don't get me wrong i love the line"you miscalculated i love zuko more than i fear you" but i think in this logic it's even cooler because she's saying that she never feared azula and to save myself from sadness she only see's zuko as a friend. DAM i mite make that into a book.

Modern au, no bending au, high school au Sokka and Azula have never been friends. Quite the opposite actually. Azula's always found him annoying and insufferable Sokka's always found her rude and entitled What will happen when they find themselves in the same class during their last year of high school? Sokka is a sweet himbo Azula has many issues with her mom and honestly Ozai is scary but pretty sweet. Some chapters will be focused on her issues. Added info: All characters are 16 and all in the same grade Zuko and Azula are twins so they can be in same grade and so are Sokka and Katara (not a big plot point at all, just more convenient and helps with continuity) Highschool where I'm from is grade 7 to 11 (they're in grade 11) so I'm going based off that I don't own any characters Creds to artcrawl for the cover art

In the year 96 AG, a freshly burned and banished 13-year-old Prince Zuko discovers a strange boy frozen in an iceberg. When Zhao interferes with Zuko's plans to deliver the Avatar to his father, Aang helps Zuko and Iroh escape. They take refuge in the abandoned Air Temples, Aang searching for any remnants of his people that he can find. Along the way, he teaches an indoctrinated Zuko about the true nature of the Air Nomads. Zuko must come to terms with the fact that everything he has been taught was a lie, while Iroh must acknowledge and face the sins of his past. Eventually, Aang and Zuko become close friends, and Zuko begins to feel things he has never felt for anyone before. However, Zhao will not give up easily, and will do whatever it takes to capture the Avatar and his traitor accomplices. This AU will explore the friendship and eventual romance that could have happened between Aang and Zuko if the circumstances of their meeting had been different. Her parents are the only ones who love her dearly, but when her mother found out about her firebending it was surprising that she specifically told her never to use it. by the law of the Fire Nation, all slaves who can bend are never allowed to use their power or else fatal consequences can occur, can she keep her firebending a secret? or will she risk her family safety and her own life if anyone finds out? this is a beginning of a story about a young girl facing herself and the world.
