In a benderless modern world, the characters of ATLA go about their everyday lives. there are no tribes but there are different groups of students that don't really merge together. families usually keep to themselves as their parents encourage them to keep away from others who aren't friends of family. 

In this AU all characters are a couple years older, so they're more mature then the age they are in ATLA, in this they're late teens, so no creepy kid stuff I promise.

until a new kid (aang) arrives at school and changes many things for most of his classmates and the school. resulting in enraging the headmaster Ozai. 

I know this story seems pretty basic but I'll try to make it more interesting with many different romantic opportunities and potentially some dark and emotional twists.

if you love ATLA and some of the ships then you should give this a read.

This story takes place after the war has settled. Aang and Katara finally together, Zuko the firelord, Sokka being,...well Sokka, Toph happy and never to return home, and the nations were finally at peace. When team Avatar decides to return to the southern water tribe to visit Sokka and Katara's family, they end up bringing Zuko along, giving him a well deserved break of running the fire nation. However, feelings start to make themselves known. Feelings that Aang doesn't like, little does he know he ends up pushing Katara into the arms of the edgy firebender, which was the last thing he was trying to do. Will this new romantic relationship tear team Avatar apart? Will it make them stronger? Will Katara's new found heated relationship be accepted by her tribe? Can the group move past it, and continue on? Will Aang ever get over Katara and find someone new? Knowing it's never easy ridding the feeling of that first love. And one of the most importance will Zuko find his mother? On a different note Azula, the sister of the new firelord, has been in prison for quite some time, there is obviously no way of her being released on good behavior. She plans to escape and find Tai Lee and Mai and "ask" them once again to join her side and take her revenge on her brother Zuko, Katara, their friends, and the Avatar. And plans to overthrow and take over the fire nation, feeling that her father apparently wasn't strong enough to hold his place.

enemies, to friends, to lovers. ______________ hi there. so, this is modern. they still have bending, ba sing se is a place etc. it's just like ATLA except with technology i guess? not sure how to explain it. but we've got zukka because im in love with it, kataang and then.. toph. but there is not firelord stuff or anything like that. i'm editing this 3 chapters in because it followed the plot line better LMAO suki died. i haven't put too much research into when she died, but i'm gonna say this is like a year or so after the last episode of atla. they need to be aged up LMAO sokka is 17, zuko 18. katara 16 and for the sake of the plot aang is also 16. toph is 15. mature content warning. minimal swearing if y'all care LMAO. its slow burn and a lot of beating around the bush. they don't wanna admit anything and sokkas just overall afraid to love again after every woman or girl he's loved has died in some form. minus katara and toph. zukos head over heels you could say, he's realizing what affection really feels like. so this leaves him questioning

To gain intel on the Fire Nation, Sokka joins the army. However, after "defeating a monster" all on his own (Appa), he's given the opportunity to become a palace guard. And though it's risky, he jumps at the opportunity. But he doesn't expect Zuko to be there, and he also doesn't expect him to not recognize him and he also doesn't expect Zuko to take a strange liking to him. _ Conflicted and lonely, Zuko spends his days in the palace with only his sister and her friends to talk to. With his mind constantly fighting against itself, a distraction in the form of sword fighting with a guard could be exactly what he needs.

The Gaang you know and love have busy lives in the big city, this is their story, how they meet there, their emotions, what relationships build and crumble. What happens when the Avatar makes an appearance? Much like my last story this book will have multiple POV's of most characters. Speaking of the characters they are all young adults, ages 22 and up. I intend to stuff in a whole lot of drama, chaos, fights, sadness and soppy romantic moments so you and I can be thoroughly entertained, I'll try my best.
