Gray Alphin lived a very sheltered life, with a strict and obnoxious mother. She had control of every aspect of his life, and he felt as if he were chained to his house. Deciding suddenly that he's fed up, Gray makes the decision to sneak out to see the fireworks at a nearby town, where a surprising friendship develops.
