In 2590, the Earth's climate is becoming harsher and the great space migration project experiences three failures. Technology is paranoid, while humans are trapped on Earth.
The plutocrats build canopies that clumsily mimic the cities of a century ago, and even construct virtual skies to isolate the rich from the rest of the world. The poor, meanwhile, endure bad weather and industrial pollution in the lower city.
No one had ever seen the sky, so people assumed the moon was supposed to be red, like a broken heart.
