Raina is having the time of her life hiding in the basement. The only thing she has to worry about is her favorite characters dying in her books or TV shows. But when she makes a promise with her mom for some new blinds, she is moved out of the basement and shipped off to Blue Tail, Minnesota with her sister, Piper, for the rest of the summer to visit their cousins. The town is half the size that she's used to and she's practically half a days drive away from her best friends. The only friend she has in Minnesota is a local bookstore worker who she tries to spend all her time with. Noticing that Raina is an extreme introvert, her cousins immediately try and make her more sociable, taking her around town and out to parties. None of it seems to be working, until she meets Zack, fellow drum player in her cousins band.
Will this finally be the summer that changes everything for Raina, or will everything go back to normal as soon as the summer ends and she goes back to her hometown in Nebraska?
