-ABOUT THE STORY-
you will notice that i added a made up female character to this story named lindsey that is not in the walking dead. she is rick's daughter and carl and judith's older sister. lindsey is tough, strong and very independent. she is around 20 years old. her and carl are very close and she is always trying to protect him and judith. this story takes place in season 4 of the walking dead after the prison gets over run. everyone is feeling very empty and depressed thinking that their lives are over and they'll never see the rest of the group again. enjoy the story:)

Hi guys! So I personally am a huge fan of Shane Walsh! He's def an underrated character, which is such a shame. But when I'm a fan of someone I like to read fanfics about them. Well Shane, nor Jon have a lot of fanfics or finished fanfics. So I decided to start one myself :) I hope you enjoy! Im a girl named Harper grimes and this is a story on how my life went from. Amazingly great to confusing, heartache betrayal and just plain old horrible. Ps. I also have a tiny crush on my dads bestfriend. I'm in denial of it and keep pushing it away because I'm only 18, but idk if I can hide it for much longer... keep reading and see if I do hide it forever or if I finally tell him I do not own any characters from amc the walking dead. ***WARNING*** This story is very graphic and only for mature readers. It has a graphic sexual assault as well. You've been warned. Athena was traveling around the country seeing her family after losing her husband in a car accident a year before the fall. She thought that they were perfect for one another and losing him shook her to her core. She was in Georgia when the world started to go to hell. After traveling alone for few months into the apocalypse, she stopped to sleep in the woods when she heard two engines stop late into the night. She went closer to the camp, snapping a twig. Then small whispers. A man with a southern twang (appropriate to the area) spoke in a hushed but urgent tone. Athena just caught the end of what he had been saying: "This isn't a democracy anymore!" Shortly after making her presence known, she gets to know the members of the group she heard whispering little by little, though they are hard to let her in to the group at first. After finally being accepted, she catches the eye of Daryl Dixon, the rugged, silent protector of the group. She is extremely apprehensive to do so after losing her husband only a year ago. But what had YN in complete shock and not knowing how to deal with it is the person who did it. Her brother was alive after she already Mourned his death. She blames herself for not double checking to make sure he was really dead or not. Luckily she has a list of rules and guidelines she has been working on as the days of living in a post apocalyptic world with the living dead to keep her busy.
