Stormy May Jean is a small town girl who lives with her grandparents in Oklahoma. Her life consists of a lot of school and sport activity, and discussing books with her favorite teacher and counselor. The whole town knows everybody and nothing ever happens. Except, of course, when it does. Stormy and her friend Bo go to school to find police uniforms instead of teachers' dresses. Their friend didn't come home the night before. Next thing they know, people start going missing one after another, seemingly random. On top of this, Stormy is put in the middle of it all when weird things keep being left for Stormy to find: old yearbooks and letters. Suddenly, everyone is a suspect. Who can she trust, and what is she going to find out?
