He loved her for years,
for as long as he could remember.
it was always her, until it became 𝘩𝘦𝘳.
And for that he despised 𝘩𝘦𝘳.

James Potter has been in love with Lily Evans for as long as he could remember, from the start of his first year at Hogwarts, and he didn't plan on stopping. He had practically planned his life with her, not that she was in on them, but he was confident they would happen.

That was, at least, until he saw her. Sage Bristol was everything Lily Evans was not. She had dark ebony hair that seemed to shine in any light, she was sarcastic and never seemed to be serious, and most of all she was breaking at the seams. The only thing her and Lily Evans had in common was their constant ability to ignore James.

And James being the prideful stuck up whiney little boy he is, concluded denial was a path that looked rather lavishing, and decided making her life hell and continuing to chase Lily was the way to go. It's not like he thought about her every waking, and occasional sleeping, moment.
