Eleanor has only ever known her little village in the corner of the Kingdom and never went further. With winter approaching she, with her father, are getting the farm ready to sustain the village. The King appears to visit for the first time and if that wasn't a surprise on it's own, he is having tea with her father.
The King has a proposal; marry his son and get anything she wants. Eleanor has never wished for a marriage, let alone to a royal. And somehow, she accepts. 

Nicholas has all he ever wants. Endless parties, attention from all the fair maidens (and their mothers), acces to the brothels whenever he wishes and no responsibilities. He is not amused when his father comes home with an arranged marriage to a peasant. Nicholas has no plans to entertain this idea and does not want to know the young woman who is now living in his castle.

The kingdom realizes that the Crown Prince is not taking responsibility in his role and they take the law into their own hands. A revolution is the last thing Eleanor and Nicholas need in their arranged marriage, but it will take place.

This book has sexual reference and mentions of things that could possibly be triggering to some - e.g. young motherhood and loss of a parent. This work is usually split into two parts, but I have decided to take down the second part, and consider the first part, one book for now, so I can work on the second. When the second part/book has been finished, I'll decide whether I like it as one book or to reincorporate the rest of the book to make it one. Entered in the Wattys(2020)!
