God has designed prayer. Prayer is what He wants all believers to engage in. Prayer is not a weapon of armor but is the battle itself. Prayer is war and the armor given to us is what we use to engage in battle. When we engage in battle this pleases God, not because we initiated the war but there is already an ongoing battle against the believer. God has brought the believer into this warfare. When the believer prays, he is in war. God wants the believer to pray without ceasing 'Pray without ceasing' 1 Thessalonians 5.17 God wants the believer to be praying always 'praying always with all prayer....' Ephesians 6.18 Because of our own good and because of what we have and are, God does not want us to be still. All men must pray because all men are in a spiritual battle. This means all believers must be found praying. Victory though, is ours but we must accept who we are and what we have in Christ. Prayer does not only satisfy God but us too. When He established prayer it was first us in mind. This does not mean that God has designed prayer for our wants. Prayer is so, that He may have His Will be done here on earth. This is an important truth that the believer must understand about prayer. God desires that we pray because we are the vessels equipped against the evil one. The enemy attacks the believer only because he belongs to God. Revelation 12.17 the believer belongs to God's and Satan hates this about him. Satan's target may be the believer but his hate is more for God. He hates what God has been done for him the believer. He hates been thrown out of Heaven and not having his way. And so he has gone out to make war with God's people. The bible tells us that war broke out in Heaven and there was no place there for Satan and his angels anymore. He was cast out together with his angels. When this happened the enemy in return began to accuse the believer before God a day and night. But the believer overcomes him by knowing who he is in Christ.
