It has been centuries since the descent of the gods. Since then, the world of Olthem is ruled by light and dark. The center of the planet is a battleground for Lightcasters and Shadowcasters, and behind the lines is an unseen war of assassination and deception. Licht, a young man considered to be an enigma, has traveled far from his lands to the city of Leonoria in thirst for knowledge; he seeks to understand an abstract concept that others own, that which he doesn't. Though, as he continues to explore the city, rumors of priests vanishing from churches surface, their hidden secrets exposed in the open. Tasked by the Inquisitors to monitor foreigners, Luna Etelvina stumbles upon the mysterious Licht and sees something that shouldn't be seen. Being her protector and guide, she challenges him to have faith in her as they uncover conspiracies that may hint the true cause of the war.
