Kara's feelings towards girls were punishable by death, much like some countries on Earth. So. when she was old enough to understand the risk of loving who she wanted, she suppressed her feelings and convinced herself that she loved boys. On Earth, years later, she meets someone who makes it impossible to ignore her feelings, but she has never made her feel as amazing as Lena Luthor.
