Virgil's always stayed in the shadows... literally. He was born with the ability to control them. He's mostly used it to make shadow creations when he's bored, or talk with his own shadow---who's pretty much his only friend. He doesn't know where the hell his powers come from, but he's not interested in finding out. All he's interested in is trying to get through sophomore year without a) failing, or b) embarrassing himself in front of cute guys.
That is, until some British kid in a beanie---who can apparently shapeshift---shows up and tells Virgil that he's one of many people in the world with powers. And there's a place for teens to learn how to control them... and how to be spies.
Soon, Virgil's navigating a new group of friends, crazy teachers, hidden biases, and an irritatingly dramatic (and adorable) roommate. High school's already hard enough without learning how to be a spy-slash-superhero, but hopefully, with enough luck, lack of will to live, and advice, Virgil will be able to make it through.
Welcome to the Academy of Supernatural Investigation and Defense Education---otherwise known as the Academy of S.I.D.E.
(This is loosely inspired off of Gallagher Girls, just with superpowers and disaster gays)

Virgil's past haunts him. He sees it everywhere and its in everything he does. And to make matters worse, he blames himself.
After a tragic accident, it not only leaves Virgil with trauma, but it make him go mute. His life is bland and miserable, until he moves in with three weird roommates. At first he doesn't trust them, but they soon become his family.
Then when his past comes back to bite him, he finds out things about his roommates as they all try to survive, but he just hopes they don't find out anything about him, or his past.
