'Winchester, huh?' a teasing voice made your muscles coil with tension. 'Can't forget us, Y/N/N?'
Oh, that awful nickname - only one bastard could use it.
'Dean,' you breathed out. Your heart soared in elation.
'I heard Sam went to Stanford. You, uh,' you chuckled in disbelief, 'Oh, my God, can't believe I'm talkin' to you. You still hunting, Dean?'
'You know it, sweetheart,' Dean said.
'Um, so, why'd you call?' you asked, getting down to business.
'I, um, I needed a favor,' you could just imagine him rubbing the back of his neck as he spoke. 'Dad is missing.'
All the traces of a smile vanished from your face.
'Right,' you said, voice icy.
'I-I know that you don't like him,' Dean stuttered. 'But he's been missing, and I'm real worried. I need your help finding him, Y/N.'
'You do realize that John killed my Dad, right?'
'He didn't directly-' Dean cut himself off, sighing. 'I know you don't really believe that. But I also know it's asking a lot-'
'No.'
'What?'
'Dean, I can't,' you said. 'I'm sorry . . . Goodbye, love.'
