"Chess doesn't always have to be competitive. It can be beautiful."
Writing can be, too. Do it but don't do it for the adoration, for the recognition, the accolades. Do it even if you're the only one who will ever read it. Even if you think your writing is shit. Do it because you love it. You're only playing against yourself.

The Light in the Dark (Completed)
Cover made by the amazing @mikeyspizzadope (go check them out they're cool) It's 3 A.M., and you can't sleep. Your heart feels like it might burst out of your chest. Your ears are ringing, echoing in your brain, and everything hurts so badly. Your vision is going blurry as you try to fight back the tears, and you're wondering why you even try anymore. At one point or another, most of us have experienced the feeling of worthlessness, shame, or guilt. We feel like we're at rock bottom, and it seems like nothing will ever get any better no matter how hard we try. One thing we do know for sure, though, is that where there is dark, there is bound to be light, no matter how small that speck may be. There's always hope, no matter how far out of reach it may seem. There's always light in the dark. TW/CW: mentions of anxiety, depression, suicidal thoughts. "I know that even when things seem dark and at rock bottom, there's always hope. There's always a light at the end of the tunnel. As small as that little shaft of light may seem, it's not out of reach." - something a friend of mine once told me All of the poems in this book have been written by me. Tears in the Truth
A young girl plays the dangerous metaphorical game of chess- will she win the raging battle between mind and soul? Or will the monster teeter her over the edge of sanity? She must tread carefully, or risk losing the game. *This is an Ellen Hopkins fanfic/rewrite no copyright infringement intended. (received permission from Hopkins)Abgeschlossen

I yelled but before I could breathe in I was pinned to the wall. I gasped. Staring into his dark blue eyes made every bone of my body weak. He smirked, knowing exactly what he did. "You got too comfortable with me, doll but I didn't show you what Ace can really do." He mumbled. He broke the eye contact we were having and leaned closer to my neck. My heart beat was racing his and each breath he took sent electricity all over my body. I bit my tongue, scared of what my brain could make me say. "And I don't think you want to know," he whispered so close to my ear sending shivers down my spine. I took a deep breath, trying to collect my thoughts. He moved back to stare into my eyes, wanting to see his effect on me but I didn't give it to him. I smirked, pushed my chin down and looked up at him. "You're all talk, Ace," I whispered, not even blinking. I saw the gulp that rose in his throat, growing my smirk. "Even when I am under your grip, you're still under my control." ♚ ♚ TROPES ♚ Dark Romance Mafia Romance Forced proximity Enemies to lovers Love triangle Living together ♚ 14.08.23: 2 Dangerous 12.03.24: 2 lovetriangle 26.11.24: 1 action-romance ♚Abgeschlossen
