In a race between Sonic and Shadow, the chaos emerald they were fighting for cracked which caused them to get teleported to a different dimension. In that world they meet another version of themselves. Though something about them seems off. While the two rivals are trying to get back to their own world, they constantly fight with one another. The world's versions of them have a hard time keeping them in control.
In other words, it is absolute chaos.
