Welcome all to your new haven,
A dark collection of short stories built over the years finally comes together. This collection holds within it the emotions that many refuse to acknowledge or try to understand. They are the emotions that could either teach how to grow stronger, or chop us down before we have the chance to fight. They are the emotions I have chosen to embrace to excel me beyond new limits. In doing so, there were many nights or sorrow and tears. However, this collection resulted from all of it. My name is Jikan, and this is what I give to you when it's my turn in the dark.
This collection will receive another addition every week on Saturday for the next few weeks. May it be your weekly chance to escape, and enter a world where your emotions are the norm.
Disclaimer:
Depression is a serious issue, and is nothing to be joked around with, or used to take advantage of others. Many people suffer from depression and much worse around the world. I wish to be a place where your voice can be heard. I want this to become a community where we can help each other, time and time again. This is a safe place to express yourself and realize that you are not alone out there.
I am no therapist. I cannot solve every problem, but I will listen to any story you'd like to tell, and others here will too. A 15 year old girl faces the extremes starting from a young age... Abuse, mentally..physically..emotionally.. hatred, depression, suicidal thoughts, attempts, and more. She let go of her boyfriend after almost a decade because their love wasn't meant to exist under the strain of children, only to find herself confronted with the overpowering connection of her old high school sweetheart. The same man she ran away from because their values hardly aligned when it came to how love should be expressed long term. Within the midst of learning how to raise children and balance her ever-building career, Agnes tries to recover from her mother's death, seek comfort without complicating her circumstance, and figure out why her mother would name her Agnes. He leans in, his breath ghosting over my skin, every inch of space between us collapsing. "Still pretending you have a choice?" His voice is soft, almost amused. My throat tightens, but I force the words out anyway. "I don't belong to you." A low, knowing chuckle rumbles through him. Fingers tighten around my chin, tilting my face up until I'm caught in his unyielding gaze. Cold. Calculating. "Belong?" he echoes, as if the word itself is laughable. "You exist because I allow it. You breathe because I haven't taken that from you, yet." Tears burn at the edges of my vision, but I don't dare look away. "Fight all you want," he murmurs, eyes scanning my face, his grip unshaking. "Scream, beg, break--I don't care. In the end, little one, you'll learn. Because every part of you?" His lips brush against my ear, a cruel whisper of finality. "It's already mine." __________________________________________ A meaningless prank call caused this disaster, a series of deaths and misery.
