"Mason," She stammered, but he held his hand up in the air. "I'll arrange a place for you and our child to stay, I'll send weekly support for the child. Just sign the papers," He urged her and handed her the pen. She took it hesitantly, hoping that this was only a dream, she prayed to wake up. "I love you," She whispered and signed her name on the allotted space. And though she would miss him, she knew better than to fight for a man's love. Somehow, he didn't love her anymore. It hurt her heart, but once a man made up his mind, nothing could make him change his mind. She even knew that much. She placed the pen down and walked to the door. /Highest Ranking /#1 in TRIALS/ Maddie slowly opened her eyes. As if, she was taken aback from a majestic world with sweet voices of singing angels. A set of dark and round eyes were locked onto hers and she was firmly held by two strong arms while his fingers tingling her back with soft caress. One moment, Matthew looked at her with so much flame and of so much passion as if those eyes reflect what's deep within hers. She longs for him and that any moment she will explode. Then passed another moment, the passionate look in his eyes turned into dreadful gaze. She was tightly held up to the point that he is already hurting her. "How far can you go, Maddie?" Matthew sarcastically uttered. "I am very happy that you came back for Sabina, I thought you're a good mother after all. I was led to believe that you did that for her sake, and deep within you, a caring mother really exists. But now, knowing your daughter's worth, you're too eager to claim her fortune by dragging me into this?", he paused for a moment. "I can never fall for this. You maybe Sabina's birth mother but not until I am breathing, you can't touch anything that is hers. She doesn't deserve a fortune-hungry mother like you!" Matthew pushed Maddie so hard that she fell unto her knees. She is in pain not because her knees got scratched from her fall, she is in pain because she knew Matthew has already judged her. Matthew Blaine, her daughter's legal guardian, was a perfect dad for Sabina. He had always been good to her, loving her as his very own. With Matthew and Sabina, Maddie felt it is such a perfect family, something that she has dreamed all her life.
