17 year old Kacie Vyes has lived a life she can only classify as normal. She has learned to deal with the abuse of her father and favoritism of her older brother for as many years as she can remember. But it all becomes a little too much when her sister is killed in an accident, followed by her mother leaving 4 years later.

Now Kacie is left only with half a broken family and a best friend who will never understand what a life outside of perfection is like. Until she meets a boy who might be able to finally understand her language.
