The Tales of Ariya takes place in 7600, after the fall of the original man who once ruled earth. The earth was left ruined and destroyed until those that survived attempted to rebuild what was left. The reformation of 7300 led to the creation of Occultisms, a form of man made magic, injected into warriors fighting in the war against Wiyera. Ariya was then split into 7 factions based on the certain occultism that was obtained. They were:
Shoran, for the nature Occultists
Atane, for the craftsmen and music occultists
Helvarn, for the warriors and fire occultists
Carina, for the wind occultists
Norvegrove, for the water occultists
Kikoro, for those without an occultism
And Eridan, for the royal bloodline and shapeshifters
However, during the dragon wars, a rebellion started in Kikoro for those who felt left out of not having an Occultism, and the rebels joined the dragons in their battle against Ariya. They were unsuccessful and as a result of their actions in 7490, Kikoro was covered in a thick smog to keep those inside trapped. The royal family made sure to erase all traces of Kikoro from their books and thus gave it the name of the broken kingdom.

Prince Xavier McGowan plans to escape his castle prison in Eridan, where his future has been chosen for him, in an effort to find where he truly belongs.
