17 year old Indie Parker has been struggling with mental illness since she was thirteen. No one knows about it. Her parents just call it laziness, and her sixteen year old younger sister always takes the spotlight. She feels like a waste of space, and struggles to find a reason to live everyday. Starting her senior year of high school, she has almost given up all hope. Until her twenty year old brother Theodore shows back up in her life, and with him his crazy four best friends.
When Alex, who is Theodore's closest friend, finds Indie in the middle of a panic attack he helps her through it. Indie ends up telling him everything, from her crying herself to sleep every night, to her shithead parents, and feeling like a wasted space. He promises that things will get better, and he will help her find reasons to want to live again.
