I meet him at the right time. Or a completely wrong one, depending on the perspective you look from. I am not the one to fall head over heels in love with someone and he is not the guy someone should even fall in love with. But there are all the witty comebacks, the unplanned meetings at the bar, the rides on his motorcycle, all the laughs we share before the morning ... It does something to both of us. It changes us to the extent where we suddenly can't live without all of this. He is not a good guy. He's as bad as it gets. But he's perfect for me. I want to believe our story is a modern fairy tale with a more realistic ending. You won't get the princess-prince bullshit from me. You'll get it how it is with no sugar-coating. "I just realised something." I say, breaking the long silence from the journey. "I'm not gonna be too sad if we don't end up finding her." I speak looking straight ahead as I drive down the road, a million thoughts running through my head. I continue, "Maybe cause to travel is better than to arrive. It's actually what has happened along the way that counts; the tears, the falls and the friendship. It's about the journey and not the destination. And I know she'd think the same. So, I guess, we just gotta trust that the future is gonna work itself out like it's supposed to." I finish off and the other two don't say anything. I glance towards them to see them watch me with apprehension. We all fall silent once again as the trees pass by us, unable to stop thinking about that one silly, reckless knobhead.
