THE GUARDIAN SPIRIT

I opened my eyes to observe my environment; everything was empty around me, a stretch of emptiness, not the void we had when we closed our eyes, in this case, there were always coloured shapes adding to our vision, no, it was more a void like... like the nights we had as kids, in the dark, without lights, not being able to see what was around us, not even our own body.

Oh yes, these terrorizing nights, which prevented us from knowing if a horrible monster was sinking in this morbid darkness

Then I heard a voice, a voice that seemed close, but at the same time distant, as if I were under water. That voice was getting closer and closer, finally, I managed to understand it;

"eeeeeeeeh ooooooooh ? Do you hear me?"

I was trying to talk, but nothing came out, feeling this, I also realized that I was not breathing, so I started to panic.

"Oh my god! Slowly, your panic is affecting my mind, it's not at all pleasant!"

I put myself in a sort of state that looked like hyperventilation, without breathing... Which made me panic even more.

I've never been a very calm person, for as long as I can remember, I had always been a ball of emotions on my feet. The stress and anger mostly filling this ball.

"If you want explanations, CALM DOWN!"
I obeyed immediately, as best I could.
"Finally! Do you know Paf the dog's joke?"
I had this feeling
"No? Well, PAF the dog!"
this really bad feeling
"Except this time it's not a dog the center of the joke, but a human"
I fall into understanding
"and that human..."
the horrible and cold understanding
"is you."
I was dead.
