I prefer being alone. 

Thats what Sophia says to the other people that are not one of few she keeps close. She is guarded. Cautious. And needs saving. Her mom hates her. Her dad is NEVER home. She has a short temper and a strong willed attitude.She is fiercely protective of her "family". Associating with her is like playing with fire. It could be really cool, or could end VERY badly. 

What happens when the new boy takes  an interest in her? What happens when he won't leave her they way she likes to be… alone? What happens when her mom pushes her just a little bit too far?
