"K-kinakabahan ako!" saad ko sa aking sarili.  Ilang minuto na lamang ay magsisimula na ang auction event na 'to. 

Puno ng takot at pangamba ang aking nararamdaman dahil sa kakaibang kaba na bumubundol sa dibdib ko.  

Rinig ko ang malakas na tugtugan mula sa labas. Isang auction event. An underground auction event na tanging mayayaman lamang ang may kakayahang makasali. 

Matatapos ang araw na ito, na wala na ang kalayaan ko. Pinunasan ko ang luhang pumatak sa aking mga mata. 

"Kailangan mo 'tong gawin, Shawn!" pagpapalakas ko ng loob sa aking sarili.

Nakapiring na ang aking mga mata at tanging dilim lang ang nakikita ko.  Dilim na kasing itim ng mga pagsubok ng buhay ko. 

Malamig na ihip ng hangin ang bumalatay sa hubad-baro kong katawan.  Mamaya lang ay mawawala na ang katiting na dignidad na natitira sa akin. 

Hindi ko naisip na mararanasan ko ang ganitong bagay.  

Ngunit bakit nga ba? Bakit nga ba magtatapos sa ganito ang lahat?

Naramdaman ko ang mga yabag na patungo sa akin.  

"Ikaw na ang susunod. Inumin mo 'to. Saad ng isang boses ng babae at may kung ano siyang likidong pinainom sa akin.  Wala akong nagawa kung hindi inumin iyon. 

Unti-unti ay nakaramdam ako ng sobrang init at pagkauhaw.  Uhaw na uhaw sa bagay na hindi ko maintindihan at maunawaan.
