The homeless are dying, and now so are the Elites.
The earth is not what it once was. After years of mistreatment, humans are forced to deal with the aftermath of global warming. The solution: genetic alterations. But the only people able to afford this treatment are Elites-doctors, politicians and scientists. Leaving Skiddies-trash collectors, factory workers and farmers-to struggle against the elements.
When a new drug hits the streets and causes widespread addiction, 17 year old Jaxon- an orphan recruited to be a police officer- decides to take the case. And when 16 year old Shyah- a newly appointed genetic scientist- notices members of her Elite community dropping dead for no apparent reason, she turns to science for the explanation.
Despite the world telling them they can't be friends due to their different social classes, feelings blossom. They quickly find that working together is the only way to get the answers they need, especially when they discover their problems are more closely related than they thought. Can they solve the case and save the human race? Or will they let stereotypes and misunderstandings be the reason civilization falls into permanent extinction?

"I walked over to where Aaron was sitting on the ground, kneeling so that I was face-to-face with him. He was wearing a blank expression on his face so I guess he didn't really care if I kissed him or not. It doesn't make sense. How is any of it possible? Where does the plot line link? Why care about some random teen aliens? Oh, God, why does it get dark so fast? I have restarted this book. I wanted to make it easier to read and more enjoyable. I hope to make shorter chapters and update frequently. :) In the beginning Sylar has no name. No one cares. She's just another kid to fall into a system because she was an unwanted mess. A child that doesn't talk? Yea, no one care about that either. A shady group home filled with bullies and secrets? Yea, you guessed NO ONE CARES! To find friends in a place like this is unlikely. This place is built to feed off the fears of kids and their lack of parental role models. No one holds on to dreams for long in a place like this. You get placed here and you are as good as forgotten. Except when a couple shows up looking as out of place as an astronaut in a gold mine or a miner in space whichever one you prefer. This couple comes and shakes things up. Good or Bad has yet to be decided...only someone's bound to get hurt, someone's bound to be broken. The only question is will the wounds heal or fester and kill?Complete

-Let's get this straight. From a dead end job to a useless crazy ex boyfriend- my happiness is with my best friend yet the fear of our relationship ending completely scares me and id rather fake it and be in fear than find out and never be happy. It sucks, seeing him everyday and knowing what i feel for him and how deep those feelings go is painful...- But when he comes around everything changes for the best and for the worst. Its worse when you're aware of the harm you cause yourself and others but dont care how the outcome turns out to be. Why would it matter how it effects you if youre used to pain and people leaving? it wouldnt.
