I know I was gone for as soon as my eyes land on her. It wasn't her soft face or her long thick hair that fell down her shoulder in waves that capture my attention, it was her eyes. There's nothing unique about them, just plain brown. Brown eyes that didn't hold judgement, repulsion, or hatred as I expected them to. Instead I what I saw was understanding and curiosity.
