"Does not work!" I want to scream, but my withered throat swallows the words by itself. I dangle nervously back and forth from my twisted, numb arms and wait. I close my eyes, although I don't notice it myself. There is no difference between the darkness in the room and the darkness behind my eyelids. a delightful tingling sensation rushes through me when, against all my expectations, the door creaks and squeaks open. Streams of light seep through the crack and suddenly my senses are over-stimulated. Voices echo faintly through my empty head, I can't understand what they're saying. I think it's a different language. The light blinds me. I try to turn my head away but a cutting pain shoots through my neck. It is suddenly a lot warmer in the room. Two-no, three people step in.
