After the horrible realisation and life changing fear that her sexual understanding placed on her, Sam finds herself completely alone without a purpose in life or a goal for her future. She tells herself it couldn't possibly be any other way. Her parents had stated this 'choice' would leave her with nothing and although they were wrong about believing that Sam had forced herself into this path of life they did make sense knowing that Sam could never be open with who she was, she could never be who she wanted to be.
